ANTS

Beside the common black and red ants there are fifty thousand other varieties of this immense family of insects, belonging to the same order as the bees and wasps. All ants are social and live in colonies. Each colony has one or more egg laying female which we call the queen. the other are known as workers and they are sterile and wingless females.their part is to collect food, rear the young and defend the house. the queen of most species have wings and they fly out in mating swarms. After mating the male dies and female return to the ground and sheds her wings. their food consist of seeds, leftovers, insects, nectar and pests that makes it beneficial to the man. their size range from one millimeter to thirty five millimeters and they come mainly in red, yellow and black colors.
  • Habitat : Open land, trees.
  • Diet      : Seeds, leftover, insects, nectar and pests.
  • Size      : 1 mm - 35 mm
  • Color    : Red, Yellow, Black.
